{Inspiration} On the Hunt for a Pink and Gold Vase

A few days ago I posted about DIY projects from the Ikea Vittsjo line.  Remember this fabulous project?

I love everything about this design.  The feminine color palette, the DIY Vittsjo project that looks like it came from a high end design showroom, the fabric, tulip table, etc...
But, what really caught my eye are those pink and gold vases.  Instant L.O.V.E.
Then, I also spotted the vase again here...

Can you see it in the photo?

I need it.  Want it.  Have to have it.

So, I'm asking you all for your help.  Anyone know the source of the vase?  Or am I destined for a DIY project?

{Life} Reality TV Real Estate Listing

Two of my favorite reality shows have come together!  I may have mentioned in the past that one of my pastimes is to scan real estate listings.  Today I came across a home in Los Angeles listed by The Altman Brothers (Josh Altman of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles) that was renovated by celebrity designer Jeff Lewis of Interior Therapy.  Two of my favorite Bravo TV shows!

The master bedroom, master bathroom and closet were the focus of Jeff Lewis' renovation on the show Epsiode 1: Almost Perfect.  You can see that the spaces are signature Jeff Lewis style.

Yes, I clearly love Bravo TV.  Do you watch Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and Interior Therapy?

{Life} The London Olympics Opening Ceremony and the Summer Months

I feel like I've been, well...kind of absent around here.  The summer months make it difficult to keep up with my favorite blogs.  Boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do.

Tonight I'll be preoccupied with the London Olympics opening ceremony.

I read that it has taken 7 years of preparation for the events.  Wow!  Looks like I'm right on target to get my home projects done in the same amount of time as it took to prepare for the London Olympics.  :)

But joking aside, I have been working on a few home projects (in bits and pieces) that I can't wait to share with you.  Have you been able to get any projects done in the summer months?  Or are you like me and having a hard time completing anything?  Kids home, summer travel, lazy summer days...what's your excuse?

{Designer Spotlight} Eileen Kathryn Boyd Interiors

I love it when I see a space that draws me to an interior designer portfolio, only to realize that I've seen and loved so many other spaces by the same designer.  Here are some of my favorite spaces from The Eileen Kathryn Boyd Interiors portfolio.  I'm sure you'll recognize many of them.

This dining room is beautiful.  The green walls, purple accents, zebra rug and mirrored furniture are all bold choices.  Had I seen this as a mood board I don't know if I would have loved it.  But put together I think this room looks beautiful.

This is one of those kitchens that if you have a Pinterest account you must have seen it a million times.  The wallpaper is amazing.  Love the banquet and the throw pillows.

A beautifully styled coffee table/ottoman.  Love the mix of the animal prints, natural elements and of course the pink peonies...my favorite!

A perfectly serene bedroom that incorporates bright bold accents.

Love this small space.  Small spaces can be big on style.

Love these drapes.  And check out those chairs with the black and white detail.  I want them!  La fiorentina pillow...Yes, please!

I love the overall use of color and the ability to mix traditional elements with contemporary color palettes.  You can see Eileen Kathryn Boyd Interiors Portfolio for more inspirational pictures.

Which is your favorite space?

This gorgeous gold unit was created by Ana Antunes.  Love the pink with the gold.  Doesn't it look so high end?

How about this fabulous hack done by Centsational Girl.  Centsational Girl never disappoints.  She even changed out the glass shelving for wood shelves.

{Inspiration} House Beautiful 2012 Kitchen of the Year

Designer Mick De Giulio created this classic and glamorous kitchen.

I love the colorful sink in this otherwise very neutral space.

Interesting pot and pan storage.  Love the use of the campaign hardware here.

The dining area is casual yet elegant.

Love that a lounge area is incorporated into this design.  A space like this is fitting to the way today's families live.  I would absolutely include a space like this if I were designing a kitchen of my own.

A fabulous outdoor area extends the kitchen space.

I saved the most fabulous part of this kitchen design for last.  In my opinion, it's the butler's pantry.  The space feels like a jewel box with the ceiling finish, light fixtures, large windows, and sparkling sink apron.

You can see Mick De Guilio's 2012 Kitchen of the Year at House Beautiful.

What's your favorite part of the kitchen design?  Thoughts on this years design compared to years past?
