{Inspiration} Ballard Designs Atoll Mirror

I've been eyeing the Atoll Mirror from Ballard Designs for my powder room for a long time.  I keep going back to it.  Look at it, put it into the cart, come back later, look at it in the cart again...etc...Ever do that with an item?  For one reason or another, whether it be the cost (I want it to go on sale!) or pure indecisiveness, I haven't been able to make a final decision.  I do love the shape, color, and texture of the mirror and think it works so well in so many styles of spaces.

Here the Atoll mirror is in various spaces.  This photo originally from Lonny shows it in an entryway.  Love it paired with the brass sconces.   

This photo, again an entryway, comes from the home of Made by Girl.  Love the modern look of the black and white.

Here it's used in a totally different style of space.  The natural elements in the room and the soft color palette give the space a serene feel.

This bathroom comes from the HGTV green home.  The Atoll mirror works perfectly in a beach inspired bathroom.

{Blogging} The Annoying Big Fat Red X

Calling all bloggers...or non bloggers...or anyone who can give me a darned answer...

Can ANYONE please explain to me why this happens?

The annoying big fat red x.  You know the one.  You've worked all day to find the perfect images and them Whamo!  Poof!  They're gone!  Disappeared!

And while you're at it tell me...

1.  What is it?

2.  Why does it happen?

3.  Why don't I see it until my post has been up a few days?

4.  If I pin an Annoying Big Fat Red X will the image I actually want appear?

4. Why is it so annoying?

5.  How. do. I. make. it. stop.

{Inspiration} Poolside Living

Poolside living can include all the comforts of home.  I could see myself here.  There's a place to make yourself a margherita and a lounge chair to sit and read Elle Decor.

Love this cabana changing area converted from a shed.  The green and yellow draped fabric backdrop is perfect with the white parsons desk and mirror.  Check out that light fixture.

Everything you need for primping poolside.

{Designer Spotlight} Artistic Designs for Living

I love coming across new to me talented designers. I first discovered the work of Artistic Designs for Living when I found a photo of this fabulous bedroom.

Gorgeous right?  I love the color combination!  A great way to combine a little tangerine tango of 2012 with turquoise of 2010.

And then take a look at this kitchen.  A small space that is BIG on style.  I love that painting.  It's the sweetest. (O.K. pun intended.)

This glass tile accent wall is gorgeous.  Love the vertical tile and the simple lines of the sink.

Check out this bold color combination.  Would you be daring enough to go this bold?

This girl's room is one of my favorites.  I would have loved something like this growing up.

But I did have a life size Jon Bon Jovi poster in my room.  So I can't complain. 

Wait.  Wait.  Don't forget the gorgeous en suite bathroom.  Funny, no Jon Bon Jovi poster in sight.

This large scale art is amazing.  I love the rustic elements and the openness of the space.

I think I could do laundry here.  The bright green could make anyone happy.

And last but certainly not least I'll leave you with this pretty powder room.   The dresser converted to a vanity is just divine with those ring pulls.

{Life} Yard Sale Preparation

Anyone who has ever had a yard sale knows the crazy amount of work actually involved in it.  After checking my calendar I realized that this was one of the only weekends that it could get done.  So, I'm taking the day off today for a last minute yard sale I'm planning for tomorrow.  It seems that last minute yard sales are a consistent theme for me.

I'll be cleaning out every closet and preparing items to be displayed.  All prompted by my master closet clean out.

Have you ever had a small project turn into a really BIG project?  Luckily, I have a pretty successful last minute yard sale system that I'll be sharing next week.
