{Organization} Cleaning Out the Closet

I have nothing to wear!  Problem is, I need to do some serious spring closet cleaning.  A little wardrobe refresher if you will.

I am begrudgingly showing you these before photos.  Here is my closet full of "nothing to wear"...

First of all, I can't find a thing on the top shelves and I clearly have a problem with collecting black shirts.  Can you say overstuffed?  I have to actually dig through things.  Not good.  I end up wearing the same couple of things that I feel good in and those items stay front and center.  Couldn't even tell you what is way back there in the back.  Could be the most amazing and fashionable item.  I'd never know.

Second, I have been holding on to items that are washed out/misshapen/outdated/don't fit.  Sound familiar?  I mean I have things in there that I've passed over thinking "Eeewwww!  I can't wear that!"  Not sure why I've been holding on to those items.  Maybe for that special occasion where unflattering, faded or pilled clothes are the fashion.

Clearly my favorite part of decluttering is that I will be creating space for new clothes. :)

Now, since my first and favorite plan to add a two story extension onto the house solely for the addition of a master closet complete with brand new wardrobe was turned down by the hubs, I've resorted to the next best thing.  Organization.  I've done a little research and I'll be sharing some great organizing tips that I'm sure will help those of us with messy overstuffed closets nothing to wear.

Have a great weekend!  You know what I'll be doing.  :)

  2. I love the idea of making room for something new. My closet used to look like that, but once I organized things a little better (and got rid of a lot of stuff) I don't seem to have the clutter issues anymore. Once it looks better you won't want to go back. Good luck!
