SURPRISE! CONGRATULATIONS! and SHOWERS OF HAPPINESS!
Did you know that Kelly, Andy and Weston are expecting a baby girl addition to their family any minute now? In celebration, a group of bloggers have come together to throw Kelly a virtual baby shower!
When I first heard that Kelly was having a little girl I couldn't help but be just a little bit excited! I may have even done a little happy dance. You see, being the mother of a boy is always about baseballs, cars, and video games! So, this virtual baby shower has given me the opportunity to do something pink and girlie!
For Kelly's baby shower today I'll be contributing the favors. The girliest favors that I could think of.
What's more little girl than pink, flowers, and nailpolish?
And you can make these too!
Here's what you'll need...
Nailpolish
Pink Tissue Paper
Ribbon
Scissor
Ruler
Start with a 20" x 20" package of tissue paper. Take two pieces of tissue paper and fold in half the long way.

Now you'll need to cut the folded tissue paper in half the short way. You'll have two 10" squares.

Fold a 10" square in half. And in half again.
Hold the folded tissue paper by the folded corner. Cut a rounded shape from one end to the other.

Cut slits into the rounded end. Slits must be cut long, at least half way to the point (this will be important later).

Cut slits into the rounded end. Slits must be cut long, at least half way to the point (this will be important later).
It's important to remember to cut the two closed folded ends on either side. This will allow petals to open properly later.
Unfold the tissue paper and lay flat. You will have a shape that looks like this...
Place the nailpolish into the center of the flower shape. Wrap around. Tie with a ribbon.

Gently unfold tissue paper petals. Remember how I emphasized cutting the slits long before? This is where it will make a difference. Petals should easily fall open.
Aren't they so pretty when placed all together? I could see them grouped and used as a centerpiece or as part of a buffet table decoration.
I hope all of you ladies enjoy your virtual favors! You'll want to visit Erin at His and Hers Blog and Sky at Neathering our Fest to be part of more Baby Shower fun! There are wonderful shower party food ideas, party games, decorations, and baby gifts that you won't want to miss!
