{Tutorial} Anthropologie Wallpaper Coasters

This project comes to you out of pure necessity.  Since my husband insists on bringing his Starbucks into the living room I came up with this simple and inexpensive project to create coasters using free Anthropologie wallpaper samples.

Here's what you will need...

Anthropologie wallpaper sample selection (or any wallpaper samples or scraps)
4 x 4 tiles
cork roll (found here)
hot glue
exacto knife
modge podge
clear acrylic spray paint
foam brush

Select which sample pieces you will use for this project.  I chose to use pieces that stayed with my current black and white color scheme.  Cut pieces into 4" x 4" squares using an exacto knife and a straight edge.  Cut cork pieces into 4" x 4" squares as well.

Next apply an even layer of modge podge to the top of the tile with a foam brush.

Adhere the wallpaper sample.  Press firmly with fingers to smooth out evenly.  Apply a thin coat of modge podge over the entire surface.  Allow to dry.

Spray with a clear acrylic sealer to protect the finish.  Allow to dry completely.

Hot glue cork pieces to back of each coaster.

Ready for that cup of Starbucks.

XOXO,

  1. Love these Jean! These will be perfect for our new family room. We have plain limestone ones in our bonus room that I bought at a farmer's market.
