Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. Carrying on family holiday traditions from my childhood has always been important, but it's also been amazing starting new traditions with my own family.
Our newest family tradition is The Elf on the Shelf. Our elf arrived via a special pre-Christmas gift from Santa. Delivered by UPS of course.
The Elf on the Shelf book tells the story of a special elf who has been sent to your family. His job is to report back to Santa each and every evening for his "naughty or nice" list. Oh boy!
This is our elf "Fred".
Fred flies back to Santa each evening. He returns before morning and sits in a new area of the home to gain a new viewing perspective for the next day. Waking up in the morning has been a fun treat searching for where our elf has landed. (A little too much fun at 5:00 am!)
I'm enjoying every moment of this while I can!
I hope that these times together will create memories and traditions for my son to share with his own family someday. I'll be the first one laughing when his children wake him up at 5:00 am. :)
