This pretty DIY paper purse adds style to giftcard and cash gifts.
What you'll need...
purse template (download here)
X-acto knife
hot glue
ruler or straight edge
8 1/2" x 11" cardstock/decorative paper
ribbon
scoring tool
button or bead
double sided tape
double sided tape
Print the purse template and cut along the solid lines.
Use the template to trace purse form onto cardstock or decorative paper. Heavier weight paper works best to create a sturdier form. Cut out along solid lines.
Score along dotted lines.
Fold along scored edges and adhere with glue.
Glue flap to purse form. Make sure to glue flap to the interior to hide seams.
Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 12" long. Pierce purse on side. Run ribbon through and knot on the inside of purse.
Repeat on second side.
Add decorative bead, button, or your favorite bling.
Cut a piece of tissue paper to fit the inside of purse. Add giftcard or cash. Flap will remain closed with a small piece of double-sided tape.
XOXO,

This is such a cute way of dressing up a boring gift card! I have a couple of family members that are impossible to shop for so I always end up giving them a gift card! If I can throw this together in time, I might try it!!! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I will be featuring it tonight at my Winter Blues Wednesday party that opens at 8pm EST. Please stop by and pick up an I've Been Featured button. Thanks so much.
